Terms and Conditions
1. General
1.1 The competition runs for the 2011-12 season, between 16/09/2011 and 26/3/2012. 1.2 Scoring is applicable to all league and cup games played between the dates of 16/09/2011 and 26/3/2012. 1.3 Players must be at least 18 years old in order to take part.
2. Team Entry
2.1 Entrants may enter as many teams as they want, at a cost of £5 per team. This is made payable via PayPal. 2.2 Entry fee allows eligibility for the 2011-12 season only. 2.3 All entrants who have paid for a team, and are over 18 years of age, will be eligible to win a prize. 2.4 Entrants will receive 100 skates for each team that they enter. 2.5 The initial deadline for entry of teams is at 00:00 on 16/9/2011. All entries made prior to this time will begin scoring from the first game of the completion. 2.6 Entries will be accepted at any time during the season. Entries must be made prior to that particular week’s deadline in order to be eligible to score points immediately. If they are not entered before the deadline, point scoring will begin from the next week of the competition. 2.7 Acceptance of an entry will be confirmed via email, to the email address supplied upon registration. It is the entrants’ responsibility to maintain their password security for Elite Fantasy League.
3. Team Selection
3.1 Entrants must choose a name for their team. Inappropriate or offensive names will not be tolerated and Elite Fantasy League reserves the right to rename any such entries 3.2 Entrants must choose 1 netminder, 4 defencemen and 6 forwards. 3.3 The total value of a selected team must not exceed 100 pucks. 3.4 Player values are not necessarily an indication of their ability or their potential to score points. 3.5 There is no restriction to the number of players selected from any one team, provided that the 100 puck value is not exceeded. 3.6 Elite Fantasy League reserves the right to add players to the database at any time. These players will begin scoring points from the week following their inclusion. 3.7 Elite Fantasy League reserves the right to remove players from the database at any time. These players will stop scoring points from the week following their removal.
4. Leagues
4.1 All teams entered into the competition will be ranked, by fantasy league points accumulated into the main Elite Fantasy League standings. 4.2 Entrants are also given the option to create or join a mini-league. However, the leader of each mini-league will not be eligible to win any of the main prizes unless they are placed in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th of the main fantasy league standings. 4.3 The creator of a mini-league will become the administrator for that league. They will have the add/remove teams from the mini-league only. 4.4 Elite Fantasy League may add prizes (cash or non-cash) to selected mini-leagues at any time.
5. Transfers
5.1 Entrants may make transfers at any time through the season. 5.2 Prior to the competition start (00:00 on 16/9/2011) entrants may make unlimited transfers at no cost. Following this date, transfers will cost 10 skates each. 5.3 Elite Fantasy League reserves the right to amend transfer costs, without prior notice, at any time. 5.4 Players transferred in to a team will begin from zero points and will start to score points in the week following the transfer being made. (E.g. if a player is transferred into a team during week 6, his points won’t count towards the team until week 7). 5.5 When a player is transferred out of a team, his points accumulated for the time he was in the team will still count towards the team total points. When a player is transferred out he will still contribute points up until the end of the week that he was transferred out. (E.g if a player is transferred out of a team in week 6 he will still score points for the team for the remainder of week 6).
6. Pucks
6.1 All player values are denoted in a currency known as ‘pucks’ 6.2 Entrants cannot exceed 100 pucks for their team when newly selecting a team or following transfers
7. Skates
7.1 For each team entered, entrants will be awarded 100 skates. Skates are credits that are used to make transfers. Further skates can be purchased at any time. 7.2 Elite Fantasy League reserves the right to amend the cost of purchasing skates, without prior notice, at any time.
8. Scoring Updates
8.1 Following any singular game points will be updated within 24 hours. 8.2 Points updates will be carried out as soon as possible following games, however it may not always be possible to update within the time period stated.
9. Scoring Points
9.1 Players will score points throughout the season in all league and cup matches between 16/9/2011 and 26/3/2012. 9.2 Players will be awarded points as per the ‘Scoring Points’ section of the website. Whilst point’s values will not change throughout the season, Elite Fantasy League reserves the right to change these values between one season ending and a new season starting. 9.3 Netminders will only score points if they actually play for any part of the game 9.4 Netminders will only be awarded points for the saves they make and penalised points for the goals conceded while they are on the ice. (Empty net goals do not count) 9.5 All Defencemen and Forwards will be awarded / deducted points if they are named on the game sheet for a fixture, regardless of whether they actually got on the ice. 9.6 If a Defenceman is serving a penalty they will continue to concede points for goals conceded, even if they have been thrown out of the game. 9.7 Players will only be awarded points for a Fighting Major if the penalty received was a 5-minute major for ‘fighting’ on the game sheet. 9.8 For multi goal and assist bonuses this can only be applied to the first three of an individual game. Players won’t receive a further bonus for 6 goals or assists. 9.9 Penalty shootout goals / assists will not count for the purposes of point scoring. 9.10 Netminder saves will be defined by the number of shots taken on that netminder’s goal during any one game. 9.11 Any player who loses points for a match / game misconduct penalty will not have the points reinstated if the penalty is downgraded. 9.12 If a goal / assist are changed and the points have already been updated, the points will not be re-awarded.
10. Players Leaving Elite League Teams
10.1 In the event that a player leaves their Elite league team for another team in the league, the player’s club detail will change in every entrant’s fantasy team. 10.2 In the event that a player leaves the Elite league completely, the player will remain in the database but not be active on any game sheet that his former team takes place in. The player will remain in an entrant’s fantasy team and score 0 points for each game until transferred out. The cost of transferring this player out will be 10 skates. It is the entrant’s responsibility to remove this player from their fantasy team
11. Elite League Teams Not Finishing The Season
11.1 In the event that an Elite League team fails to finish the season for any reason, all entrants will be granted the number of transfers required to remove any players representing this Elite League team from their fantasy teams. These transfers will be provided for free. 11.2 In the event of the Elite Ice Hockey League in it’s entirety not finishing the season, the prize money will be awarded to the highest ranked person following the final game played.
12. Prizes
12.1 The prize fund provided by Elite Fantasy League is £1,000. Entrants who finish in the top 5 places, by total accumulated points across the entire game period (16/9/2011 to 26/3/2012), will be eligible for a share of the prize, the sum of which is based upon final position. The prize breakdown is: 1st Place = £500, 2nd Place = £300, 3rd Place = £100, 4th Place = £75, 5th Place = £25 12.2 In the event that more than one team is level on points with one of those teams in a prize winning place, the prize fund will be awarded evenly between the number of teams level on points. (E.g. If teams in 5th, 6th and 7th place finish on equal points, each team will receive one third of the £25 prize) 12.3 If more than one team finishes level on points, and those teams are in prize winning places, the prize for each place will be totalled and then awarded evenly between each of those teams (E.g. If teams in 2nd and 3rd place finish level on points, the 2nd place prize of £300 and 3rd place prize of £100 will be totalled and each team will receive half of the £400 total) 12.4 Whilst prize values will not change during the season, Elite Fantasy League reserves the right to change prize values between the end of one season and the start of the next.
13. Contacting the Winners
13.1 After confirming the winning teams, entrants will be contacted via the email address provided in order to arrange payment of their prize. 13.2 Elite Fantasy League will aim to contact all prize winners within 10 days of the competition closing. 13.3 Entrants will be required to respond to the email within 30 days, otherwise the prize money may be forfeited. 13.4 Prizes will awarded by cheque. 13.5 Prior to the payment of any prize, identification will be sought where winners may be required to provide proof of identity and age.
14. Complaints
14.1 Elite Fantasy League reserves the right to refuse participation if the entrant has not complied with the game rules or Elite Fantasy League Terms and Conditions. 14.2 In the event of a complaint, entrants should contact us via email at admin@elitefantasyleague.co.uk and seek to resolve the matter informally. 14.3 In the event that any complaint cannot be resolved an independent third party adjudicator shall be contacted.
15. Queries
15.1 Any queries regarding Elite Fantasy League should be directed via email to admin@elitefantasyleague.co.uk 15.2 Elite Fantasy League will aim to respond to all queries (via email) within 48hours of receiving them
16. Copyright
16.1 Elite Fantasy League, it’s logo, the scoring system and intellectual property rights are property of Elite Fantasy League.
17. Liability
17.1 Elite Fantasy League accepts no liability for technical, hardware, or software failures or network failures that may prohibit or delay participation in the game. 17.2 Elite Fantasy League reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
